As per 20JUL12 GDS timetable and inventory display, THAI’s low-fare unit THAI Smile from 31MAR13 plans to introduce 6th daily Bangkok – Krabi and 2nd daily Bangkok – Phuket service. These flights are operated by Airbus A320 aircraft.

Update at 0320GMT 20JUL12
THAI Smile starting 16SEP12 will begin operation to India, where it plans to offer daily service on Bangkok – Hyderabad route with Airbus A320 aircraft. This will replace THAI’s 4 weekly A330-300 service. In addition, the low-fare unit of THAI starting 31MAR13 plans to start Phuket – Singapore service, also daily flight.
Update at 0450GMT 18JUL12
As per 18JUL12 GDS timetable and inventory display, THAI is moving forward planned service increase on Bangkok – Yangon route by 10 weeks, as it’ll launch 3rd daily service from 16AUG12 instead of 28OCT12.
In addition, the new flight will be operated by Airbus A300-600R aircraft, replacing previously planned Boeing 737-400. Schedule:

THAI in December 2012 plans to operate limited service to Sendai, on board Airbus A330-300. The Star Alliance member currently plans Bangkok – Sendai – Sapporo service, departing BKK on 08DEC12 and 15DEC12. Sendai departure to Bangkok operates on 05DEC12 and 12DEC12.
Reservation for this limited service is currently not available.

Update at 0325GMT 04JUN12
As per 04JUN12 GDS inventory display, THAI appears to have shelved its plan to resume Hong Kong – Taipei Taoyuan route, due to resume 28OCT12. Reservations for this sector is closed and removed from TG’s system.
Update at 0940GMT 26APR12
As per 26APR12 timetable listing in Amadeus, THAI has revised planned operation for Bangkok – Sapporo service. This route, due to start 28OCT12, is now displaying 3 weekly operation, reduced from previously planned 4 weekly flights.
Airbus A330-300 aircraft operates this service, however reservation is still unavailable for the moment.
Update at 1125GMT 24APR12
THAI Airways International has outlined its planned configuration for 507-seater Airbus A380 aircraft. The airline’s configuration is F12C60Y435. Based on seat map display, THAI appears to be the first A380 operator equipped with tri-class cabin on upper deck.

2nd Update at 0315GMT 22APR12
THAI on Saturday (21APR12) has further updated planned Airbus A380 operation, due to enter service in Winter 2012/13 season. Latest update sees A380 entering service to Hong Kong and Singapore for 6 weeks, starting 28OCT12. TG will then operate A380 aircraft to Frankfurt, Tokyo Narita and Paris CDG.

2nd Update at 1710GMT 21APR12
As per 20APR12 GDS timetable and inventory display, THAI Airways is introducing Airbus A380 service on Bangkok – Tokyo Narita route starting 16JAN13. The Star Alliance member on 21APR12 has further updated its planned schedule as well as A380 operation, therefore, Tokyo Narita is no longer the first A380 destination for TG. Separately, the Star Alliance member from 30OCT12 plans to launch 4 weekly Bangkok – Sapporo nonstop service, on board Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
2nd Update at 0750GMT 18APR12
Based on Sabre’s timetable listing as of 09APR12, THAI Smile has re-scheduled its inaugural flight, which is now scheduled on 07JUL12. Further, revised schedule now sees the airline will focus on domestic routes within Thailand, instead of flying intra-asia service at early stage.
On 18APR12, the airline opened reservation for Macau service. Reservation for other routes will be opened in the coming weeks.

As per 29MAR12 GDS timetable and inventory display, THAI has re-adjusted planned operation to Delhi and Mumbai for Summer 2012 season. The airline has cancelled planned one-way service from India to Phuket, while adjusting planned frequencies to Mumbai.

As per 26MAR12 GDS timetable and inventory display, THAI has reversed its plan to deploy Airbus A340-600 aircraft on Bangkok – Auckland service. Previously the airline planned to operate A340-600 instead of 777-200ER from 01MAY12.
However, planned service reduction from 16APR12 to 14JUN12, from 5 weekly (Day x37 from BKK / Day x14 from AKL) to 4 weekly (Day x357 from BKK / Day x146 from AKL), remains unchanged.

As per 26MAR12 GDS timetable and inventory display, THAI Airways International starting 16AUG12 is introducing NEW 2-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft (not leased from Jet Airways) on Bangkok – Tokyo Narita service.
