As per 15JUN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Air Madagascar has reversed its decision to split Asia operation from 28OCT12. The airline will continue to operate Antananrivo – Bangkok – Guangzhou service twice a week, with Airbus A340-300 aircraft. However, the airline will add 3rd weekly service to Bangkok.

As per 07JUN12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Air Madagascar starting 05JUL12 to 27OCT12 is to operate Airbus A340-300 aircraft instead of Boeing 767-300ER on its Asia operation. The airline during this period operates twice weekly Antananarivo – Bangkok – Guangzhou and one weekly Antananarivo – Bangkok route.

As per 24APR12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Air Madagascar starting 28OCT12 is planning to split its Asian operation, where it’ll operate nonstop service to both Bangkok and Guangzhou. This will allow the airline to expand capacity on both of these destinations.

Air Madagascar starting 06JUN12 is introducing 3rd weekly service to Bangkok, on board Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. The airline will operate Antananarivo – Bangkok terminator service on Wednesdays (Thursdays from Bangkok).

As per 16MAR12 GDS timetable and inventory display, Air Madagascar remains on track to introduce leased Airbus A340-300 aircraft to its long-haul operation. However, the airline appears to have decided to keep Boeing 767 aircraft as well. Per latest plan, A340 will operate service to France while Boeing 767 continues to operate service to Asia.

As per 28FEB12 Amadeus timetable listing, Air Madagascar plans to introduce leased Airbus A340-300 aircraft to its operation, which would marks the end of the airline’s reliance on Boeing aircraft on long-haul service. The airline operated Boeing 707, 747 and 767.

Air Madagascar in Northern Winter season is continuing Boeing 777-200ER operation, which the aircraft is leased from EuroAtlantic Airways, in order to keep its European operation. However, inflight service and cabin crew is offered by Air Madagascar.
From 30OCT11 to 24MAR12, the airline operates 2 weekly Antananarivo – Paris CDG and 1 weekly Antananarivo – Marsille – Paris CDG service.
Air Madagascar since 01SEP11 has chartered EuroAtlantic Airways’ Boeing 777-200ER aircraft for its service between Madagascar and France, as its contract with Air Italy (Boeing 767-300ER aircraft) expired in late-August 2011.
The airline has been blacklisted by the European Union since April 2011, which 2 of its Boeing 767 aircraft is banned from operating into EU countries. This forced the airline to drop its plan to launch new service between Comores and France, and has returned 1 Boeing 767 back to its lessor. Its remaining Boeing 767 aircraft currently operates twice weekly Antananarivo – Bangkok – Guangzhou service.

Air Madagascar from 29MAR11 is adjusting service to Johannesburg. Existing 1 of 2 weekly Antananarivo – Johannesburg is to operate via Nossi-Be, outbound on Tuesdays, inbound on Saturdays.

Air Madagascar once again will be codesharing with AIRFRANCE. From 02MAR11, Air Madagascar’s “MD” code will appear on AF’s 2 of 4 weekly Antananarivo – Paris CDG service. Wednesdays and Sundays service from Paris, Mondays and Thursdays from Antananarivo sees AF service carrying MD flight number.

As per 23DEC10 GDS timetable display, Air Madagascar from 27MAR11 will eliminate stopover at St Denis de la Reunion on its 2 weekly Antananarivo – Bangkok – Guangzhou service.
Previously the airline planned to operate 1 weekly each Antananarivo – St Denis de la Reunion – Bangkok – Guangzhou and Antananarivo – Bangkok – Guangzhou. Latest change sees all 2 weekly flights operating the latter routing.
As per 01DEC10 GDS timetable display, Air Madagascar starting Northern Summer 2011 season is PLANNING to offer Nonstop service between France and Comores, up to 2 weekly. Once materialized, Air Madagascar is set to be the new and the 3rd option of air travel between the two, in addition Kenya Airways and Yemenia. This would also be the first ever nonstop service between France and Comores, though it requires a 50-minute stop in Nairobi on northbound departure from Comores.
From 28MAR11, there is 1 weekly Antananarivo – Moroni – Paris CDG (outbound via Nairobi only, inbound nonstop) service, except from 01AUG11 to 05SEP11, where it’ll operate to Marseille instead of Paris
Furthermore, Northern Summer Seasonal 1 weekly Nossi-Be – Paris CDG service is to operate as Nossi-Be – Paris CDG – Moroni – Nossi-Be routing.

With Air Austral plans to launch its own St Denis de la Reunion – Bangkok service, Air Madagascar is adjusting service to Bangkok and Guangzhou starting the launch of 2011 Northern Summer schedule.
1 of 2 weekly Antananarivo – St Denis de la Reunion – Bangkok – Guangzhou service starting 01APR11 will eliminate stopover at St Denis de la Reunion. Air Madagascar does not have local traffic rights between Reunion and Asia, where the rights goes to Air Austral under codeshare agreement. Although the agreement is terminating at the end of March 2011, Air Madagascar will still not be able to sell Reunion – Asia sector locally.

As per 11MAR10 GDS timetable display, Air Madagascar is to operate Boeing 767-300 aircraft on Antananarivo – Johannesburg service on 12JUN10 and 26JUN10, which is during the World Cup in South Africa.
Service replace 737-300 on these 2 days.

Service operates from 17JUN09 for the entire Northern Summer season.

As per 20APR09 GDS availability display, Air Madagascar is postponing the Guangzhou launch till 02NOV09.
The airline originally planned to start the service on 03JUL09.
As per 26MAR09 Sabre availability display, Air Madagascar has closed the ticket sale to Guangzhou, which is supposed to begin from 02JUL09, an extension from Bangkok.
All the availability to Guangzhou has been Zero’d out, but service to Bangkok shows wide open.
