Japan / France Signs Open Skies Deal

Japan and France has concluded revised bilateral air service agreement, which was held in Tokyo between 04JUL12 and 06JUL12. The conclusion saw the two sides signed Open-Skies deal, which includes the following:

*Open-Skies between Japan and France, including New Caledonia and Tahiti. This includes Tokyo Airports^
*Tokyo Narita service increase is possible starting Summer 2013
*Tokyo Haneda day-time service will be permitted, 2 flights per day for each side, once International slot increases from 30,000 to 60,000

^In the press release, it only mentioned liberalizing air traffic service, including Tokyo, however, based on previous open-skies deal with other 16 countries, restrictions for 5th freedom rights remains in place for Tokyo Airports

With the signing, France becomes 17th country to sign open-skies deal with Japan, and second country to secure daytime service at Tokyo Haneda for International flights.
