DELTA replace AIRFRANCE on Selected Atlanta / Newark – Paris CDG service 28JUN11-07JUL11

As per 28JUN11 GDS timetable and inventory display, DELTA from 28JUN11 to 07JUL11 is temporary replacing AIRFRANCE on selected trans-atlantic service.

S7 Airlines to launch Ekaterinburg – Beijing and Vladivostok – Hong Kong in W11

oneWorld member S7 Airlines starting 01OCT11 is launching Ekaterinburg – Beijing 2 weekly service, on board Airbus A320 aircraft. S7 will be the 3rd carrier to offer this service (Air China and Ural Airlines both operates this route).

Also, for the first time, the airline is launching Vladivostok – Hong Kong weekly service starting 02NOV11, on board Airbus A320 aircraft. Service operates on Wednesdays. This is part of oneWorld carrier’s new strategy to expand Russia Far-East service (See post on 10JUN11).

Turkish Airlines to start Afghanistan service as planned from July 2011 with new schedule

As per 28JUN11 GDS inventory display, Turkish Airlines has adjusted planned operational schedule for its new Istanbul Ataturk – Kabul service, and has re-opened reservation.

New flight schedule is operating 4 hours later than previously scheduled. As a result the launch date is being “pushed back” to 10JUL11, instead of 09JUL11. On 27JUN11, this website reported that TK is canceling the service due to closure of reservation in the system. The original post is being removed as reservation is opened once again as of 28JUN11.

JAL plans aircraft change to Jakarta in W11

As per 28JUN11 GDS inventory display, JAL from 30OCT11 is changing operational aircraft on Tokyo Narita – Jakarta service, which Boeing 777-200ER (with Executive Class Shell Flat Seat; J56W40Y149) replacing -300ER.

Capacity remains unchanged (777-200ER is 1 seat less than -300ER), but will see the elimination of First Class service. Separately, the oneWorld member carrier last week has adjusted Tokyo Narita – Vancouver service, which will continue to be operated by Boeing 767 in W11. This route previously was showing 777 from 30OCT11, but it was loaded as default schedule.

Malaysia Airlines Tokyo Narita July 2011 Reductions

Malaysia Airlines is extending service cuts on Kuala Lumpur – Tokyo Narita as it continues to struggles with low demands like its counterparts.

The airline originally to increase from Daily back to 11 weekly level from 01JUL11, but this has been postponed till 27JUL11. However, between 08JUL11 and 26JUL11, it’ll operate 9 weekly flights.

JetBlue adds 4th Daily Boston – Chicago service in Sep/Oct 2011

JetBlue in its Fall schedule, between 07SEP11 to 29OCT11, will 4th Daily service on Boston – Chicago O’Hare service, on board Embraer E190 aircraft.

The 4th Daily service is currently in operation, B6927/928 is currently in operation 3 times a week until 22AUG11. From 30OCT11, service will operate at reduced frequency, which B6925/926 reduce to 4 times a week.

Aigle Azur starts seasonal Paris – Tunis service

French carrier Aigle Azur on 24JUN11 has launched 2 weekly service on Paris CDG – Tunis route. This seasonal service operates until 05SEP11.

Also, it’ll offer Paris Orly – Tunis on 30JUN11, 27JUL11 and 31AUG11.

Frontier Airlines to add seasonal Branson – Austin & Phoenix service Sep – Dec 2011

Frontier Airlines announced the launch of seasonal service on Branson – Austin and Branson – Phoenix route.

The former operates with Embraer ERJ145 3 times a week from 15SEP11 to 14DEC11, while latter operates every Saturdays with Airbus A319 from 17SEP11 to 10DEC11. The airline currently offers 3 weekly Branson – Milwaukee and Daily Branson – Denver service.

Lufthansa starting 30OCT11 is launching 3 Daily Frankfurt – Aberdeen (UK) service, offering new nonstop service between Northern Scotland and Germany.

Hainan Airlines to start Manzhouli – Chita service

Hainan Airlines starting 30JUN11 is launching 2 weekly Manzhouli – Chita service, becoming the first carrier to offer International service on regular scheduled basis from the Chinese inner-Mongolian city to Russia. It will also be the 2nd Chinese carrier operating to the Russian city, where Air China currently operates 2 weekly Hailar – Chita service with Boeing 737-300.

According to report, prior to the launch of this 1-hour only air traffic service, the only access between Manzhouli and Chita is by road for 7-8 hours, or by rail for over 10 hours.

China Eastern opens Taiyuan – Bangkok route

China Eastern Airlines on 24JUN11 has started Taiyuan – Bangkok scheduled charter service. Boeing 737-800 aircraft operates the service twice a week.

Bangkok is Taiyuan’s 2nd International destination after Taipei.

Shanghai Airlines South East Asia Service Changes in S11

Shanghai Airlines is temporary adjusting some of its International service, where service reductions has seen. However, these flights will be restored gradually in July and August 2011.

2nd Daily service to Bangkok is to be restored from July 2011, while Phnom Penh service returns to Daily service from August 2011. The Skyteam member at the meantime is introducing 2nd Daily Phuket service starting 01JUL11.
