MIAT Mongolian Airlines plans to extend Hong Kong service to year-round flight

As per 22JUN11 Sabre timetable display, MIAT Mongolian Airlines appears to be extending Ulaan Baatar – Hong Kong service to year-round.

Service in Winter 2011 season, effective 24OCT11, is to operate once a week with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Skyteam Members Changes to Paris CDG – New York JFK Operation in W11

AIRFRANCE from 30OCT11 is reducing Paris CDG – New York JFK service from 5 to 4 Daily.

AF012/017 service will not be operating in Winter 2011/12 season. However, Skyteam partner DELTA will continue to operate its own Daily service, which sees this route operates combined 5 Daily flights, same level as Winter 2010/11 season.

ANA Group/IBEX Airlines/AirDo Resumes Sendai Scheduled service from 25JUL11

ANA Group has announced scheduled service resumption to Sendai from 25JUL11, nearly 4.5 months after damaged by earthquake.

The Star Alliance member and its partner carrier has been operating service to Sendai since mid-April 2011, but only under charter basis.

AeroMexico to offer Monterrey – Brownsville TX service in Jul/Aug 2011

AeroMexico starting 15JUL11 is launching 2 weekly Monterrey – Brownsville service. This seasonal flight operates for 6 weeks until 21AUG11, becoming the only operator offering International service.

Brownsville is located on the US side of Texas-Mexico border.

Comair/British Airways to cancel Tanzania service from Aug 11; Lanseria Int’l Service postponement

British Airways franchise Comair is reducing service on Johannesburg – Dar es Salaam service. This route, originally launched as 5 weekly service in October 2010, has reduced to 3 weekly since Monday (20JUN11). From 28JUL11, this route will be suspended until further notice.

Also, the airline has postponed planned International service on Lanseria – Gaborone and Lanseria – Maputo route. These routes were due to start from May 2011, but is now postponed till 01SEP11.

Spirit Airlines expands Chicago O’Hare with 5 New Destinations and 11 New Daily flights

Spirit Airlines is expanding its service out of Chicago O’Hare, with the launch of 5 new routes.

From O’Hare, Spirit will add a total of 11 new daily flights, gradually introduced between mid-August 2011 and mid-December 2011. From 18AUG11, it’ll launch Boston Daily flight, Dallas Twice Daily flights and New York La Guardia Daily service. Additional daily frequency will be added for these 3 markets starting 07SEP11.

Also, it will add 2 Daily service to Detroit from 18AUG11, followed by Daily Orlando service from 10NOV11. Starting 15DEC11, it is also adding 4th Daily service on Ft. Lauderdale route.

TAAG Angola to inaugurate Boeing 777-300ER to Brazil; Beijing Resumption pushed till Aug 2011

As per 22JUN11 GDS timetable display, TAAG Angola PLANS to introduce Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to its operation starting 26JUN11. On separate note, the airline is postponing planned service resumption to Beijing, where the airline plans to operate nonstop service with Boeing 777-200ER. The new resumption date is now scheduled from 02AUG11, instead of 05JUL11.

China’s Spring Airlines expands Shijiazhuang base service from July 2011

China’s low-cost carrier Spring Airlines starting 01JUL11 will launch 3 new routes out of Shijiazhuang. The airline already operates 6 routes out of Shijiazhuang (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenyang, Chengdu, Hohhet, Guangzhou). In the airline’s press release, the latest expansion marks its 1-4-9-plan at Shijiazhuang, meaning basing 1 aircraft at SJW, 4 aircraft operating in total, 9 routes.

The airline will start service from Shijiazhuang to Xiamen, Nanjing and Dalian.

Sichuan Airlines launches intra-Xinjiang Routes

China’s Sichuan Airlines yesterday (21JUN11) launched 2 intra-Xinjiang Province service in China, with Daily service each on Urumqi – Kashi and Urumqi – Yining route.

Both service operates with Airbus A319 aircraft. On Urumqi – Yining route, Sichuan Airlines is the 4th operator on this route, which raise overall frequencies up to 11 Daily flights.
