1985/86: Emirates Network / Inaugural schedule

Today, 25OCT10 marks the 25th anniversary of Emirates Airlines. It began operation with leased Airbus A300 and Boeing 737-300 from Pakistan International Airlines, operating service to 4 destinations, Bombay, Delhi, Karachi and Kuwait.

Inaugural flight was EK600, Dubai – Karachi.

The following is Emirates’ 1985/86 Winter season schedule, it’s first operational season, taken from Official Airline Guide Worldwide Edition – Jan 1986:

    I followed EK setup as a geeky teenager back then, I was very disappointed to learn their first destination was India, KHI came later, so this is news to me that it was their inaugural, makes sense though considering they sought PIA’s help to start off.

    Actually, I’ve read everywhere else that it was Karachi (first destination)
