Hainan Airlines from 27NOV10 is launching 3 weekly Beijing – Toronto service on board Airbus A340-600 aircraft. Toronto is the carrier’s 2nd destination in North America and 1st in Canada.
China Eastern today (31AUG10) launches 3 weekly Kunming – Colombo – Male service. Today’s inaugural flight is operated by Airbus A330 to Colombo only, but will be operated by Boeing 737 or 767 thereafter.
This is China Eastern’s first service launch to Sri Lanka, and service resumption to Maldives, where it used to operate 2 weekly Shanghai – Male – Johannesburg in 2008.
As per 31AUG10 GDS timetable display, Oman Air is postponing service launch to Milan Malpensa by 4 weeks. The new launch date is now scheduled from 03DEC10, instead of 01NOV10.
The 4 weekly service operates Muscat – Munich – Milan Malpensa routing, previously posted on this blog on 07JUL10.
As per 31AUG10 GDS timetable display, Lufthansa from 01OCT10 to 30OCT10 is to operate Boeing 747-400 aircraft on Daily Frankfurt – Lagos service, replacing Airbus A340-300.
AVIANCA from 03SEP10 is launching 3rd Daily Bogota – Mexico City, filling the void of MEXICANA’s ceased operation. The Colombian carrier introduced 2nd Daily flight back in July.

ASIANA AIRLINES from 31OCT10 is adding 3rd Daily Seoul Gimpo – Tokyo Haneda service. All flights operates with Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
As per 31AUG10 GDS timetable display, Virgin America from 14OCT10 is adding 6th Daily Los Angeles – New York JFK service.

As per 31AUG10 GDS timetable display, Air China is keeping Airbus A319 service on its 2 weekly Shanghai Pu Dong – Chengdu – Bangalore service in Winter 2010 season.
The Star Alliance carrier originally planned to operate Boeing 757 service on this route.
Air Macau from 07SEP10 is gradually increasing Macau – Shanghai Pu Dong service. The increase mainly focuses on NX116/115 flight.
From 07SEP10, overall service increase from 23 to 24 weekly, 25th weekly added from 28SEP10. Air China’s “CA” code appears on these flights.

As per 31AUG10 GDS timetable display, China Airlines is continuing capacity reduction on 1 of 3 Daily NONSTOP Taipei Taoyuan – Bangkok service in Winter 2010.
Planned operational aircraft as follows:
Fuji Dream Airlines announced new service which will go into effect from 31OCT10, including 5 Daily Nagoya Komaki – Fukuoka and 1 Daily Shizuoka – Fukuoka service.
These flights will replace current JAL service.
LANPeru from 01NOV10 is launching 5 weekly Lima – Montevideo service with Airbus A319 aircraft.
Frontier Airlines from 13FEB11 launches Saturday-only Denver – Liberia service on board Airbus A319. Liberia is Frontier’s 2nd Destination in Costa Rica.
DELTA today (31AUG10) plans to operate Boeing 747-400 aircraft on San Francisco – Atlanta, DL2880, one-way service.
The operational aircraft change is due to aircraft repositioning.
AIRFRANCE from 31OCT10 is canceling Lyon – Copenhagen and Lyon – Munich service.
These routes operates by BritAir by AIRFRANCE, currently operating up to 1 and 2 Daily, respectively
